DIY Frame Kits

A Popular option for construction of an Outdoor Kitchen is a steel frame, Steel frames are heat and weather resistant and very sturdy.  You can purchase steel frame kits designed specifically for outdoor kitchens. The frames come in a variety of configurations and can support a range of appliances and accessories.

Steel frame kits can be used to create both simple and elaborate outdoor kitchens plus everything in between.   The frames are positioned as you like using a modular system.

Cement board is used to skin the structure and then the walls can be stuccoed, stone-clad or tiled.

Not all steel frame kits are created of equal quality  grades of steel.  We recommend galvanized steel that is 18 Gauge thick.   The 2 leading frame kit companies in USA, BBQ Coach and BBQ Tubes have taken their kits to the next level by offering welded corners and special metal connectors.   We found BBQ Coach prices to be a less than BBQ Tubes but this is part to BBQ Tubes offering their kits with all steel tubes which is even stronger than the 18 Gauge studs used in the BBQ Coach kits. Steel tubes have 4 sides of steel and are more rigid and easier to screw together. Studs have only 3 sides of steel and because they flex they are a little more difficult to screw together than the tubes.
